A Big Thank You

This week, the City finished the nearly three weeks of community budget hearings. More than 2,000 residents took time out of their daily routines to listen, learn and comment on the proposed FY 2010 city budget. With the benefit of this input, the Budget and Research Department has prepared a revised budget. At phoenix.gov/update you will be able to see the complete City Council Report describing the budget, which will be considered for final adoption on February 4.

Thank you to everyone who came out or took the time to call or write your Council office to comment on the proposed budget. Remember that shared revenue from the State makes up a big part of the City's general fund -- any reduction by the Legislature in the State's FY 2010 budget would require another round of cuts in the City's budget.
